Alanya International Jazz Days
Alanya Jazz Days will feature international jazz artists in the city. Four days of live music will be offered. The event is completely free and celebrates culture and art. The Alanya Municipality has organized a series of events to celebrate this occasion. The Jazz Days in Alanya used to be held on rainy days in the past. It is hoped that this year’s event will be better weather. You can refer to Alanya Music Festivals, Alanya Jazz Days for more information about the nature of this festival.
The 17th edition of the Alanya International Jazz Days will be held by Alanya Municipality from 22-25 September. Alanya Municipality will be hosting world jazz stars in the historic atmosphere of Kızılkule. Eylül Ergül will be performing, as well as other notable names like Barbaros “Around The World”.

- Thursday/ September 22
Klaipeda Castle Jazz Band (20.30): Klaipeda Castle Jazz Group will host the First Concert on September 22 at 20.30. The band which brings together a group of highly-successful and respected musicians from Lithuania, is one of Lithuania’s most important and popular classical jazz bands. Their professional interpretations and artistic performances are what make them stand out.
Jazz Project Fatih Erkoç and Kerem Görsev Trio (22.00): Fatih Erkoç and Kerem Görsev are two of the most prominent jazz musicians to have been raised in Turkey. Erkoç is well-known for his ability to play the trombone and other instruments as well as his vocals. His voice color is an expert at conveying all musical textures, including jazz classics and Turkish music. He has been expanding his musical repertoire since the 1990s. His pop hits include “Ellerim Bomboş”.
Although it has been 13 years since “The Lady from Istanbul” was released, the 13-year-old tradition of Erkoç’s and Görsev performing similar jazz classics at concerts has continued for 13 years. In his youth in Turkey Erkoç was a member of the ‘TRT Caz ve Hafif Müzik Orkestrası’ and later performed at many jazz festivals across Europe and America. Kerem Görsev has been a prolific and well-known jazz musician in Turkey since 1995, when his first album was released. He continues his life as a mix of jazz classics and his own compositions. His 40-year career has made him a leader in Turkish jazz.

Deniz Taşar (20.30): Unique interpretations of Deniz Taşar will allow her to expand her range from soul to R&B to hip-hop. She is a multidisciplinary artist, singer, songwriter and designer. Her unique voice and tone has given Turkish jazz vocals a new life. Taşar’s music is difficult to convey in one genre. She has many styles and all of them are valuable.
Steffen Morrison (22.00): Morrison is also a songwriter and has a passion for music that moves people. The passionate performances which he delivers, appeal to a broad audience. Steffen gained fame for his spectacular performances at the Port of Rotterdam North Sea Jazz Festival. Steffen Morrison is a star who makes people amazed every time he takes to the stage. He will be giving a spectacular concert on September 23rd at 22:00.

Maya Azucena (20.30): Maya Azucena’s music is uplifting. Her sound is a blend of modern R&B and indie pop, with blues interactive vocals. He has won numerous awards for his humanitarian work as well as his music. His 4-octave voice was approved by the Grammys for his collaboration with Stephen Marley when he was selected as the Best Reggae Album. He describes herself as a Brooklyn singer/composer who has worked with many artists from both her country and around the world.
Carlton Jumel Smıth Soul Man (22:00): Carlton Jumel Smith, an independent singer, composer and producer, is well-known for his shows that have exploded in many parts of the globe. His most memorable role was the album “1634 Lexington Avenue”, which was praised by critics for its soulful voice.

Önder Focan Quartet feat in the final, Eylül Ergül (20.30): Önder Focan is a jazz guitarist and composer who, in addition to his repertoire and band, has released 17 albums and 1 DVD. Eylül Ergül, a pianist and vocalist, will be performing at Alanya Jazz Days.
The concert will feature a diverse repertoire, including pieces from the Önder Focan Group’s latest albums Aubergin/Patlıcan, and Nu Book. Eylül Ergül will also perform jazz and R&B tracks. Burak Cihangirli is a well-known drummer who has mastered swing and dynamism. Enver Muhamedi, a double bass player, is also part of the group. Bulut Gülen, a trombonist who earned much praise for his performances in Turkey and the USA, is also part of the group.
Barbaros “Around The World” (22.00): Barbaros will be meeting the audience in Alanya for the first time on September 25, as part of the Alanya International Jazz Days. Barbaros, a graduate of Istanbul University State Conservatory Opera Singing Department opened the doors to world music for the audience with his vast repertoire, which includes opera arias and musicals, as well as pop music and jazz. His repertoire includes Russian and Arabic songs.
