The philosophy of the festival

Alanya’s climate is very similar to tropical areas. This makes it a great place to plant tropical fruit trees. These trees are adaptable and thrive in these conditions. This kind of fruits are costly in Turkey. Some farmers started growing these crops to make more money. Now the avocado is a popular crop in Alanya. You can peel it with salt and lemon, and then eat it with olive oil.

It is a place where you can find anything fresh and organic all year. It has been grown in Alanya for exotic fruits since recent years. You can now buy and eat tropical fruits that you can see in faraway places, just as fresh in Alanya.

This is the city that has everything you need to make it one of the most beautiful in the world. Alanya is more than sand and sunshine. This place now has a new, delicious festival.

“Alanya Exotic Fruit Festival or Tropical Fruit”. This festival will show producers and products from the fertile lands in Alanya, Turkey’s tropical fruit heaven. It will be held this year for the first-ever time with the theme of “Avocado” and will bring together many industries, including the cultivation and processing of avocado, using that in foods, cosmetics, and gifts.

Festival ceremonies and events

The workshops will take place at the Gastro Kitchen stage, which will be located in the festival area. Famous chefs will give and prepare recipes using avocado flavors. It is also explained about the special contribution of this fruit in the field of health and cosmetic products. Famous names will take to the stage at the end of the evenings, making the festival a music-filled feast. This festival will last for 3 days.

The festival will host a variety of competitions where avocados and other tropical fruits will be judged and promoted. The competition will feature all local farmers. It will include the ‘The Most Beautiful Avocado Garden’ and ‘Heaviest Avocado’ competitions. The event will be in collaboration with the Alanya Chamber of Agriculture & the Avocado Producers Union. The contest is open to all farmers in Alanya, who send their request in person to Alanya Municipality.

Making a statement about the festival, Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel said, “Alanya is a big city that has carried out many pioneering works with its institutions and residents who have an urban identity and consciousness. Alanya, the capital of tourism, also definitely deserves to be known for its tropical products, agriculture, and gastronomy.

We are organizing the ‘Tropical Fruit Festival’ with a brand new concept by melting agriculture and gastronomy in one pot. We aim to draw attention to the important products of Alanya, expand the areas of use in kitchens and support our producers. I invite all our people to the festival, which will be held on 21-22-23 October 2022 with the theme of Avocado.
